Publishing Your Work at INTERMAG 2026

The INTERMAG Conference offers two complementary routes to publishing your work presented at the conference. The first is as a full paper in a regular issue of the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics. In addition, presenters are offered the opportunity to publish their accepted digest as a short conference paper (max. 2 pages) in IEEE Xplore. This is particularly valuable in supporting young scholars allowing them an early research communication in a publicly accessible and referenceable publication.

Full Papers in IEEE Transactions on Magnetics

Authors of accepted digests are invited to submit full papers for publication in IEEE Transactions on Magnetics. To be eligible for publication, all papers must be presented at the Conference by a registered author (or representative) who is knowledgeable about the work. The following points summarise the publication process:

  • All papers will be submitted to MAGCONF IEEE Author Portal here. Note that this site is different from the digest submission site.
  • The paper submission site will open on 16 February 2026. Papers must be received by 11:59 pm ET on 9 March 2026.
  • The recommended paper length is ten journal pages for invited papers and five journal pages for contributed papers, including figures and references. Papers significantly (>2) outside this range will not be considered.
  • Review standards will mirror those used for regular articles submitted to IEEE Transactions on Magnetics.
  • All papers must have at least two peer reviews, with the final decision on the publication of the manuscripts made by the editors.
  • Accepted papers will be posted online with DOIs as “Early Access” papers. They will be published in final form as regular articles (not as “conference papers”) in an issue of IEEE Transactions on Magnetics.
  • Papers not accepted for IEEE Transactions on Magnetics may instead be offered the option of publication in the IEEE Magnetics Society Conference Proceedings on IEEE Xplore.

    Conference Short Paper

    In addition to full papers, authors are also encouraged to publish their accepted digest as a “conference short paper” in the Magnetics Society’s Digital Library on IEEE Xplore. To be eligible for publication, all papers must be presented at the Conference by a registered author (or representative) who is knowledgeable about the work. The following points summarize the publication process of conference short papers:

    • Each published conference short paper will receive a unique digital object identifier (DOI).
    • Along with other conference-related material, the collection of conference short papers on IEEE Xplore will form part of the archival record of the conference.
    • Publication of accepted conference short papers will still allow you to submit a full five (or ten in the case of invited) page paper to the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics which will be handled as outlined above.
